How loud is snoring?

That’s how loud is snoring! Look it up in the Guinness Book of Records: over 111 decibels, which corresponds to the volume of a jet plane at low altitude, were measured in a British woman who is now 70 years old.

She, who snores so loudly due to a malposition in her throat, took it with humour, and her husband apparently did too: despite the noise terror, he stayed with his wife – but not too close. The secret of love: separate bedrooms. By the way: 85 decibels are not uncommon with loud snoring (source: European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology). This corresponds to a washing machine that is spinning or a lawnmower. Unfortunately, all this is only partly funny: the louder someone snores, the greater the risk of daytime tiredness and circulatory problems.
